Overview

As an AI-Powered Senior Conversion Engineer, you will help transform our conversion engineering function into an AI-first operation. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain the tools and platforms that support our Data Conversion and Implementation Teams while championing the adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows to dramatically accelerate and enhance conversion outcomes. You will bring deep expertise in data architecture, mapping, and transformation, combined with a forward-thinking AI-first engineering mindset, to automate and optimize data conversion processes between external and internal systems. You will work closely with Conversion leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flows and contribute to long-term system architecture planning.

Job Duties

• Work with Conversion leadership to champion AI-first practices within the Conversions Engineering team by identifying, evaluating, and integrating AI-powered tools and capabilities (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and automation of conversion workflows.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of existing data conversion processes and tools, leveraging AI to augment team capacity and complete complex conversion projects more efficiently.
• Contribute to long-term systems architecture planning and strategy, incorporating AI technologies into the technical roadmap to align with organizational goals.
• Play a key role in the technology roadmap, including research, prototyping, and rolling out new AI-powered technologies and patterns.
• Conduct integrity checks on data using established tools and create new AI-assisted processes to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Lead the development and maintenance of stored procedures and views utilized by the Conversion and Implementation Teams to ensure smooth data onboarding.
• Oversee and mentor the generation and enhancement of DTS/ETL packages to streamline data transformation and integration tasks.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize data throughput, ensuring the scalability of data systems based on evolving requirements.
• Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in the data management and transformation landscape, proactively implementing best practices.
• Take a leading role in the planning, documentation, and execution of data conversion projects, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior team members, promoting AI literacy, knowledge sharing, and team development.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with data conversion processes to ensure project success.
• Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team’s goals and initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant major or equivalent years of experience
• 5-7 years of experience in highly technical roles with a focus on data engineering, data architecture, or similar.
• Track record using AI-powered software development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development workflows.
• Demonstrated AI-first mindset with the ability to identify where AI tools and automation can augment conversion engineering processes.
• Advanced experience with SQL programming, with a focus on developing and optimizing stored procedures and views.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with data mapping, transformation, and integration, including developing ETL processes.
• Strong experience with MS Azure and MS SQL Server.
• Significant expertise in ETL/ELT, data ingestion, and management tools, with a proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving data and connection issues.
• Proficiency in data architecture and logical and physical modeling, with a focus on scalable and efficient solutions.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, offering technical direction and supporting professional development.
• Experience working with cloud providers to build, deploy, and host solutions (ideally Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS).
• Experience in at least one Agile software development methodology (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure environments.
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, showing initiative and ownership of tasks.
• Bonus Skills:
  • Knowledge of the dental industry or relevant industry experience.
  • Familiarity with imaging standards like DICOM.
  • Experience with issue tracking systems such as Zendesk.

Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  This position is also eligible for variable pay as part of the total compensation package.
