Overview
The Corporate IT Manager at Planet DDS is responsible for the day-to-day operational effectiveness of our internal IT environment — owning Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, software licensing, and end-user support across the organization. This is a hands-on player/coach role leading a small team of IT professionals — accountable for the outcomes of the Corporate IT function while remaining deeply engaged in day-to-day execution alongside the team, setting the standard through direct work as much as through direction and coaching.
This position works closely with HR, Finance, and the Cybersecurity and Compliance team to ensure that onboarding and offboarding workflows are executed accurately and on time; that the M365 tenant and Entra ID environment remain secure and well-governed; and that employees have reliable, well-managed endpoints from their first day to their last. The role reports to the VP, Infrastructure and is expected to operate independently — managing the team’s priorities, maintaining well-documented and repeatable processes, and owning outcomes across all Corporate IT functions, including the governance and responsible adoption of AI productivity tools across the organization.
Job Duties
- Administer the M365 tenant across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Entra ID — managing user provisioning, group membership, Conditional Access policies, MFA enforcement, and periodic access reviews.
- Manage and develop a small team of IT professionals — assigning and prioritizing work, running regular 1:1s, providing direct coaching on technical and professional development, and maintaining clear performance expectations in a fast-moving environment.
- Execute onboarding and offboarding workflows in coordination with HR and department leads, ensuring timely license provisioning, access assignment, and reclamation at each employee lifecycle transition.
- Own the full endpoint lifecycle: coordinate hardware procurement, configure and deploy devices via Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM) and Autopilot, enforce compliance policies, manage patching cadence, and maintain asset inventory records for Windows and macOS endpoints.
- Ability to design and operate automated workflows using PowerShell, the Microsoft Graph API, or similar scripting approaches, with an emphasis on reliable, low-touch execution of routine IT operations.
- Own the IT support function, including ITSM platform configuration (ticket workflows, SLA definitions, and knowledge base) — ensuring the team delivers consistent, high-quality end-user support and serving as the escalation point for complex or sensitive issues.
- Partner with the Cybersecurity and Compliance team to enforce M365 security baselines, monitor Microsoft Defender for Business alerts, support Conditional Access policy governance, and contribute to SOC 2 and HIPAA control evidence as it relates to identity and endpoint management.
- Establish, document, and continuously improve IT runbooks, employee lifecycle checklists, and asset management procedures to ensure consistent, auditable execution and build team capability through documentation and cross-training.
- Provide supporting data for software budget planning, including license utilization, SaaS spend, and hardware refresh forecasts.
- Coordinate with external vendors and managed service providers as needed for issues outside direct scope, maintaining accountability for outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 5-7 years of hands-on IT experience in a SaaS or technology company environment
- Two or more years of experience directly managing IT staff — including setting priorities, providing coaching and feedback, and developing team members’ technical capabilities
- Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and their application to IT operations — you actively explore how emerging AI capabilities can be applied to the work, evaluate them with sound judgment, and bring a bias toward responsible adoption over passive observation.
- Solid working knowledge administering Microsoft 365 — Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and MFA
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for MDM/MAM, Autopilot enrollment, device compliance policy configuration, and application deployment across Windows and macOS
- Proven experience managing software licensing and SaaS subscriptions, including structured onboarding/offboarding workflows
- Working knowledge of ITSM concepts and tooling; ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or equivalent experience preferred
- Ability to write PowerShell scripts or use the Microsoft Graph API to automate common IT tasks
- ITIL Foundation certification, or equivalent demonstrated process knowledge, preferred
- Familiarity with identity governance concepts: access reviews, privileged identity management, or Entra ID lifecycle workflows a plus
- Experience at a company subject to SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar compliance frameworks a plus
- Microsoft certifications preferred: MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), or SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator)
Benefits:
- Medical and Dental insurance
- Life Assurance and Income Protection
- Employee Well-Being program
